Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to examine the influence of old people`s attitude toward aging on suicidal thinking. I tried to analyze the urban and fishing village people`s attitude of aging, their thinking on suicide, and the influence of their attitude of aging on suicide thinking. In case of urban old people, the rate of the suicide attempt was high, while in case of fishing villages the rate of "never thinking of suicide" was high. The primary cause of suicide impulse, in the urban, was in the order of ``financial power,`` ``domestic troubles,`` ``children`s troubles,`` ``loneliness and solitary,`` but in fishing villages, ``disorder`` and ``disease`` was relatively high. In case of attitude toward aging, the urban people`s attitude and their physical feature was indicated more affirmative. Consequently, in this paper, I`d like to propose to practice a variety of programs to reduce the old`s thinking of suicide and above all, to stress the need of family member`s positive support and help in order to suppress their suicide impulse.
